New Scottish Power Tariff - cheapest in the country?

Scottish Power, one of the nation's leading energy suppliers, has announced its launch of the UK's cheapest energy tariff.

The Online Fixed Price Energy Nov 2013 is being made available nationwide as either a dual fuel or electricity-only tariff, and features fixed prices until 31 October 2013. Furthermore, the plan does not include a standing charge – which ensures that customers only pay for what they use.

Scottish Power is making this tariff available to all online customers, and participants are able to pay by Direct Debit, Variable Direct Debit, cash or check. What's more, the Online Fixed Price Energy Nov 2013 features absolutely no early termination fee, and Scottish Power has promised that it will notify all customers should a plan appear on the market that is as little as £1 cheaper per week.
This latest offering from Scottish Power overtook EDF Energy's Blue+ Price Promise September 2013 by £2 in order to be named the cheapest energy tariff in the UK, based upon national averages*. This means that, while the tariff is generally the cheapest plan available nationwide, it is not necessarily the cheapest tariff regionally; therefore, customers should seek professional advice before switching to this tariff.
